To Do List from the book of 2nd Timothy

 

“To Do List” from our study of Second Timothy summer 2024

2^nd Timothy is a passionate book from the apostle Paul to his “son” in the faith Timothy. The book is FULL of Charges and advice and challenges. As we finished it seems appropriate to make a Daily To Do List from the book of 2^nd Timothy. (This list is not to make us feel guilty but to “continue in what you have learned” Ch. 3:14).

 Did I Fan into Flame the gift of God in me? Ch. 1 vs. 6

 Was I ashamed of the testimony about our Lord? Ch. 1 vs. 8

 Did I suffer for the Gospel? Ch. 1 vs. 8, Ch. 2 vs 3

Have I kept as the pattern of sound teaching? Ch. 1 vs. 13

Did I guard the good deposit that was entrusted to me? Ch. 1 vs. 14

Was I strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus? Ch. 2 vs. 1

Have I entrusted to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others that things I’ve heard from Paul ? Ch. 2 vs. 2

Did I remind God’s people of the truth of the poem in Ch. 2:11--13? Ch. 2 vs 14

Did I Warn people before God against quarreling about words? Ch. 2 vs 14

Did I my best to present myself to God as one approved? Ch. 2 vs. vs. 15

Did I correctly handle the word of truth? Ch. 2 vs. vs. 15

Did I Avoid godless chatter? Ch. 2 vs. 16

Did I Flee the evil desires of youth? Ch. 2 vs. 22

Did I pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace? Ch. 2 vs. 22

Did I avoid having anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments? Ch. 2 vs. 23

Did I gently instructed my opponents, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth? Ch. 2 vs. 25

Did I have nothing to do with people who are lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God who have a form of godliness but deny its power?¹ Ch. 3 vs. 5

Do I continue in what I have learned by reading the scripture so I may be thoroughly equipped for every good work? Ch. 3 vs. 14-17

Am I willing to preach the word, “in season and out of season”? Ch. 4 vs. 2

Am I willing to correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction? Ch. 4 vs. 2

Did I keep my head in all situations? Ch. 4 vs. 5

Did I endure hardship? Ch. 4 vs. 5

Did I do the work of an Evangelist (share your faith)? Ch. 4 vs. 5

Did I discharge all the duties of my ministry? Ch. 4 vs. 5

Have I fought the good fight? Ch. 4 vs. 7

Have I finished the race? Ch. 4 vs. 7

Have I kept the faith? Ch. 4 vs. 7

I have fought the good fight,

I have finished the race,

I have kept the faith.

Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness,

which the Lord, the righteous Judge,

will award go me on that day

—and not only to me,

but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
