Joshua – he led
the people into the promise land“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” - Said by God to Joshua in Joshua 1:8
Ezra – He led the exiled people back to the promise land
“For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.” - said about Ezra in Ezra 7:10
David – Was the King of Israel and was called “The man after God’s own heart”.
“Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.” - Psalm 119:97
Josiah – a young king of Israel that found the book of God’s law and led a revival – read the story in 2 Kings chapter 22
Ethiopian Eunuch – A man from Africa was traveling from Jerusalem in a chariot and he was reading the Bible. God sent Philip to explain the Bible to him. The Eunuch became a Jesus follower. Read the story in Acts 8:24-40
The Bereans – The Apostle Paul was preaching in Acts 17 in and the Thessalonians rejected Paul’s teaching but the Bereans “were more noble” and they studied the Bible daily to check on what Paul taught. Read the story in Acts 17 – we need to be noble too!
Timothy – Timothy was a disciple of Paul and 2 Timothy 3:15 how Timothy “has known the Holy Scriptures” from infancy.
Jesus – Jesus answered many questions by quoting the Bible. In Matthew 4:4 Jesus says “It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God”.

Idea: Psalm 119 is full of great words about God’s word. It is also 176 verses a day divided into 8 verse sections. Read 8 verses a day and in 22 days you will have read the whole Psalm and have much inspiration!
Colossians 3:16
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
